Transitioning towards zero emission vehicles by 2030

The government is phasing out the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans by 2030, with all new cars and vans to be zero emissions at the tailpipe by 2035.
At this virtual event Innovate UK will provide an update on the government’s zero emission vehicle R&D programme, as well as potential future funding opportunities. Relevant areas include development of zero emission vehicle technologies and the supporting charging infrastructure required to enable the transition to zero emission vehicles.
This event will benefit business of all sizes, academics, RTOs and local authorities.
To help potential applicants to find suitable partners for the competition, KTN has launched a networking platform where you can discuss project opportunities and book video chat meetings.

SBRI competition, rail demonstrations: First of a Kind (FOAK) 2021
The aim of this competition is to demonstrate innovations to stakeholders and railway customers in a representative railway environment.
Projects must focus one of the following themes:
Increasing customers’ confidence and enhancing their experience
Easy to use for all
Low emissions and a greener railway

Automotive Transformation Fund: expression of interest
The Automotive Transformation Fund is a new programme that aims to establish a competitive and sustainable UK supply chain. It offers a share of up to £1bn of funding for capital and associated industrial research projects to support the industrialisation of a high value, electrified automotive supply at scale in the UK. Expression of interest closes 24 February.
UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £25m from Innovate UK to deliver game-changing and commercially viable R&D innovation that can significantly impact the UK economy. Closes 26 May.
UFO is seeking collaborative projects (of 2 or more SMEs) to develop innovative products and services by integrating new embedded technology solutions in the Small Flying Objects (SFO) area i.e. smallsats, drones and high altitude platform systems. Closes 18 February.
A report commissioned by UKRI and the Future Flight Challenge has analysed six use-cases on their potential to boost the UK economy and deliver wider societal benefits.
Their findings suggest that the integration of new aviation technologies – drones or air taxis – will deliver valuable benefits by reducing costs, journey times and industrial accidents.
