A joint meeting by the APPG’s on Aerospace (chaired by Chris Matheson MP) and the Future of Aviation (chaired by Henry Smith MP) was held yesterday. The briefing explored what measures Government should take to ensure aviation can restart and begin to recover once restrictions are eased, including testing for international travellers and economic support. A number of MPs were briefed on the impact of COVID-19 on the UK’s aerospace, airline and airport sectors. The Rt. Hon. Chris Grayling MP the former Secretary of State for Transport was also present at the meeting and has secured a Westminster hall debate on 18 November 2020 on the Future of the aviation industry.
