The Riga Airport development project – RIX Airport City was presented this week at the world's leading airport development investment conference Global Airport Development World in Amsterdam.
By announcing an international competitive dialogue to attract investors and developers, Riga Airport has started the implementation of the strategically important RIX Airport City project with the aim of creating an advanced airport city of the future within ten years. Together with the expanded passenger terminal and the Rail Baltica high-speed railway connection, it will provide not only traditional aviation services, but will create an environment for the development of various types of business, offer multimodal transport options and contribute to the population and the economy of the region as a whole.
The contract with the successful tenderer is planned to be signed by the end of 2023; the forecast amount of investment for the development of RIX Airport City is up to 300 million euros.
