The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Tuesday announced a budget of almost Rs 10,000 crore for 2024-25 fiscal, making provision of Rs 700 crore for Noida Airport expansion and Rs 300 crore for rapid rail connectivity.

In a significant move aimed at bolstering infrastructure development, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has unveiled a budget of Rs 10,000 crore for the fiscal year 2024–25. This allocation includes substantial funds earmarked for the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar and the enhancement of multi-modal rapid rail connectivity.

According to YEIDA's CEO, Arun Vir Singh, the budget includes Rs 700 crore designated for land acquisition for the third phase expansion of the Noida Airport in Jewar. Additionally, Rs 300 crore has been allocated for the rapid rail project, which aims to link the Jewar airport to Ghaziabad.

YEIDA, which holds a 12.5 percent stake in the Noida Airport project, has strategically planned connectivity between the airport and Delhi through Ghaziabad via the RRTS rail system.

Currently, phase one development of the airport is underway and is scheduled to commence commercial operations by the end of 2024. This phase encompasses the development of 230 acres, including 75 acres for commercial purposes and 155 acres for industrial use.
