In January 2014, Gardiner & Theobald were awarded the sole framework for the Independent Fund Surveyor role at Heathrow Airport. The commission is a joint appointment by Heathrow Airport Ltd and the Airline Operating Committee and includes a duty of care to the Civil Aviation Authority.
Modelled on the role of monitoring surveyor from the commercial development sector, the scope is broadly to assure that capital funds are invested efficiently to meet agreed aproject objectives. This requires independence and involves G&T in many of the key projects at Heathrow covering Terminal Refurbishment, Baggag Handling Systems, Runways, Aircraft stands and Aprons.
