Scientists warn that UK airports have been slow in adopting new technologies.  Iain Gray, director of aerospace at Cranfield University, told a briefing at the Science Media Centre in London that Gatwick was woefully unprepared for last month’s incident— when repeated drone sightings closed the airport for three days — and, like other UK airports, “slow in adopting technologies for identifying what is in their airspace”.
