Memphis International Airport is being awarded nearly $15 million in federal funds to modernize and expand its terminal to increase capacity.
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration is awarding Memphis International Airport $14.8 million. The funding is from the Airport Terminal Program, one of three aviation programs created by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The law provides $1 billion annually for five years for Airport Terminal Grants.
The funds will allow the terminal’s modernization by restructuring the layout of the circulation and ticket counters, installing ticketing technology and a fire suppression system.
