More planes will be circling over parts of Cambridgeshire, but the impact has been mitigated, according to Luton Airport.

London Luton Airport currently shares arrival routes and flight holding areas with Stansted Airport, a situation described as “unique and unsustainable” by the air traffic control provider NATS.

Any delay at one airport, either in the air or on the ground, has an impact on the other and can cause additional delays.

As a result, the airport shared plans for a new flight holding area, primarily over Huntingdonshire.
