Airport Technology

BUD will be the first European airport to be managed by air traffic controllers located outside of the airport area.

Global technology and consulting firm Indra is ready to begin onsite installation work for an integrated tower solution that will provide remote management at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) in Hungary.

Indra secured the contract from the Hungarian air navigation service provider, HungaroControl, to manage air traffic at BUD from a remote location last October.

Once completed, it is said that BUD will become the first European capital airport to be entirely handled by air traffic controllers stationed outside of the airport area.
