Passenger Terminal Today - Callum Brook-Jones

Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) has announced that upon completion of its billion-dollar Terminal Modernisation Program in 2025,  it will be the first airport in the world to feature a terminal powered by its own microgrid of thousands of solar panels, combined with natural gas sourced from land at the site.

With the health and safety of passengers a focus, the new 700,000ft2  terminal building will also feature an increased amount of indoor space for social distancing, new green outdoor terraces airside, modernized check-in areas, security checkpoints and baggage claims. A five-story garage with a 3,000-car capacity and a rental car facility will also be built on the site.
