Hurricane Otis slammed the infrastructure across the region, leaving thousands of people homeless.

Acapulco International Airport was severely damaged by Hurricane Otis, with the terminal building and control tower impacted. However, operations are expected to resume in the short term.

The devastation caused by the hurricane has left thousands of people in Guerrero without communication or access to transportation. OMA plans to establish an air bridge to provide relief and aid to the affected region.

Acapulco International Airport had 81 weekly flights scheduled in October 2023, with airlines like Aeromexico, Viva Aerobus, Volaris, and United Airlines operating routes to and from the airport.
