Construction blasting at Nashville International Airport will halt traffic on roads near the airport's construction area for several minutes every weekday until the end of the year, according to an announcement from BNA.

The blasting is needed for the extension of Concourse D and other terminal roadway projects as part of the airport's "New Horizon" expansion. Blasts will happen every Monday through Friday at 1 p.m., with a backup time of 3:30 p.m. as necessary. Blasting starts Monday, March 25.

Nashville International Airport is in the middle of a multi-phase expansion and redesign that has already included new airport hotels and a new, unified lobby and security checkpoint.

The "New Horizon" expansion plan, announced in 2022, calls for $1.5 billion in improvements to include expansions to two concourses, a new air freight building and terminal roadway improvements.
