Funds will be used for the rehabilitation of the pavement on Taxiways A, M, AA, BB, and CC.

The Canadian Government has announced funding to support transportation infrastructure projects at the Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW).

Funding of nearly C$4m ($2.9m) will be used to rehabilitate the pavement on Taxiways A, M, AA, BB, and CC.

The government provides funds from Transport Canada’s Airport Critical Infrastructure Program to ensure safe airport operations.

The latest funding is an addition to C$6.4m ($4.7m) announced last year under the Airport Critical Infrastructure Program for constructing a light rail transit (LRT) station at the airport.

It will also be an addition to C$5.6m ($4.1m) from Transport Canada’s Airport Relief Fund to support the airport in maintaining continued operations and important air services.
