Pascall+Watson have been appointed to design a series of projects at Ancona Airport with the objective of creating a consistent and cohesive passenger experience across the site.

Currently on site, the first project to be commissioned considers a new campus-wide strategic approach to wayfinding and rebranding, which applies a new visual identity across a family of bespoke product and signage elements.

Our concept combines references from the city’s unique heritage with colours of the local landscape to create a contemporary design language and a new visual identity.

The wayfinding project is being used to inform the wider airport brand identity and as a catalyst to the forthcoming upgrade and refurbishment of the terminal building. The scheme aims to quadruple capacity by the end of the construction works expected in 2022.

Fundamental to the design development will be consideration of the projects’ environmental impacts - Passivhaus, WELL standards, circular economy materials and renewable energy features will be explored as an integral part of the design process.
