Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, has said in a statement that it is to close Cambridge Airport by 2030 and turn the site into a 12,000 home housing estate.
A beneficiary will be Stansted Airport just 30 miles down the M11 south of the university city with an established business aircraft set-up well away from the main passenger building.
