Gatwick Airport’s Chief Operating Officer, Chris Woodroofe, gave delegates [at the AoA Airports Conference] an insider’s account of how the airport overcame the drone threats which briefly closed Gatwick in December last year. Outlining the changes that the airport had made to be better prepared in future, he emphasised that there was no single silver bullet to counter drone activity, but that what was required was a multi-layered approach.
