US airport update:
Atlanta City Council approves USD 182 million funing for future projects inc concourse works, non-terminal facilities, design / consulting services, and other operational improvements. 1
A separate 5-year agreement for USD 33 million to support the airports's Plane Train has also been approved. 2
News released that the airport is planning further terminal, landside and concession developments as part of it long-term expansion plans (over next 4 - 5 yrs). 3
A USD 45 million concourse renovation is underway at the airport. Work commenced in January this year with completion penned for 2027. 4
A new master plan has just been published which includeds a second terminal addtional gates and expansion of landside infrastructure. The master plan has been submitted for FAA approval. 5
Work continues on its long term modernisation / development plans including a new single terminal. Design work underway with construction due to commence early 2027. 6
A PPP is progressing the development of a new cargo facility at the airport. Aviation Facilities Company (AFCO), a United States-based airport real estate developer and operator, to design, build, lease and manage a multi-tenant cargo facility under a long-term ground lease. (Project value: +USD 50 million) 7
