UK-Ukraine Transport Partnership – February Newsletter

Welcome to the latest instalment of the UK-Ukraine Transport Partnership newsletter, featuring reflections on the one-year anniversary of the UK-Ukraine 100 Year Partnership, and looking forward to the year ahead at the UK’s support to Ukraine’s transport initiatives.

One Year Anniversary of UK-Ukraine 100 Year Partnership

16 January 2026 marked one year since the Prime Minister and President Zelenskyy signed the 100 Year Partnership. The 100 Year Partnership is a legally-binding, long-term commitment to strengthen conditions for investment, trade and cooperation for mutual benefit across several sectors. It marks an enduring alliance between our two countries to ensure the UK and Ukraine’s long-term security and prosperity.

As part of the partnership, several areas for cooperation in the transport sector were proposed, including support to national and local transport planning, transport resilience, support to reopen and modernise Ukraine’s airspace, and the negotiation of an updated Air Services Agreement between the UK and Ukraine which could foster greater connectivity between the two countries.

One year on, the DfT is proudly delivering against several of the commitments outlined in the 100 Year Partnership. We have provided regional support through a Transit Oriented Development Scoping Study in the city of Lviv, and a Reconstruction Transport Strategy to the city of Kharkiv. DfT is also actively working with our Ukrainian counterparts to finalise an updated bilateral Air Services Agreement.

Department for Transport 2026 Priorities

We look forward to continuing to deliver against our transport commitments and explore opportunities for how UK business and capability can add value in Ukraine’s transport recovery in 2026.

In the coming weeks we will publish the Kharkiv Reconstruction Transport Strategy and will use the upcoming International Transport Forum to ensure UK expertise and interests in Ukraine’s recovery are represented. Likewise, we will pursue modal-specific discussions in line with the priorities highlighted by First Deputy Minister Alona Shkrum and Deputy Minister Andrii Kashuba in the recent Transport Working Group.

At DfT, we remain committed to supporting the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine’s transport sector. We will continue to engage with UUTP members in 2026 to explore how the UK private sector can support reconstruction efforts. Please do get in touch if you have ideas on how you can work with us.

Department of Business and Trade Launch New GOV.UK UK-Ukraine Procurement Dashboard

DBT is excited to announce the launch of the new UK–Ukraine Reconstruction Procurement Dashboard, a single, centralised platform that brings together live reconstruction tenders from the World Bank, European Investment Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in one user‑friendly and searchable platform.

Built directly in response to feedback from UK businesses, the dashboard is designed to make it quicker and easier for UK companies of all sizes to identify opportunities, understand requirements, and bid through transparent, competitive processes.

The dashboard is freely accessible to UK businesses via GOV.UK: Ukraine Public Dashboard.

DBT hope this tool is genuinely helpful for firms looking to navigate the reconstruction landscape and identify where UK strengths can play a direct role in rebuilding Ukraine.
