Toronto Pearson Airport is expanding its supplier network with two six-month pilot programmes, tapping startups and AI to enhance efficiency, passenger experience, and operational resilience.

Toronto Pearson (YYZ) is launching two six-month pilot programmes to broaden its pool of suppliers beyond traditional aviation technology companies, said Brian Tossan, the airport’s chief technology officer and interim chief infrastructure officer.

“Canada and Toronto are hotbeds for startup talent and artificial intelligence, and many of these companies are right in our back yard. We want to expand our roster of suppliers to bring in cutting-edge technologies and foster cross-sectoral innovation. This will accelerate digitalisation at Canada’s busiest airport,” Tossan said.
