After its opening in September 2022, the $3bn Terminal C at Orlando International Airport is currently undergoing expansion. The terminal was originally designed to accommodate up to 12 million passengers annually through its 15 gates. The expansion might see the number rise to 15 million. This is one of the airports undertaking major upgrades in the USA.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is pressing ahead with the major upgrade to Terminal C, designed to increase capacity and improve passenger flow. A key feature will be a 450-foot elevated, enclosed, and air-conditioned pedestrian bridge, eliminating the need for travelers to cross a parking garage. This bridge will link Terminal C directly to the Train Station, Terminal Link people mover, and Parking Garage C, and will include an adjacent rental car lobby. Recent reports indicate there is a delay in completion of this project due to payment disputes amongst the contractors.

The expansion also includes four new multifunctional gates (250–253) at the south concourse. Configured as MARS (Multiple Aircraft Ramp System) gates, they will handle up to eight aircraft positions and feature Common Use systems for flexibility between domestic and international operations. Supporting works include an expanded apron, ramp upgrades, taxiway improvements, and remote aircraft parking facilities.
