The Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation, Dr. Sameh Al-Hafni, held a meeting with a delegation from Türkiye's TAV Airports, a subsidiary of the French Aéroports de Paris (ADP) Group and a leading global airport operator. According to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Aviation on January 11, 2025, the discussions—part of Egypt’s broader strategy to engage private sector expertise in enhancing its civil aviation sector—focused on TAV's interest in contributing to the development and modernization of Egyptian airports.
These ongoing consultations are aimed at selecting the best offers to ensure optimal returns on investment for Egypt’s aviation sector. Through its upcoming privatization program, supported by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Egypt seeks to integrate private operators into airport management to foster economic growth and improve services across its airport network.
