Sydney Airport (SYD) has reached a major milestone in its infrastructure programme with the completion of the $169 million South-East Sector Apron expansion project.

The project delivers four new Code F layover bays, designed to accommodate large aircraft such as the Airbus A380. Additionally, two existing Code E bays have been upgraded to handle aircraft like the Boeing 777, Airbus A340 and A350. The apron features a flexible configuration, allowing it to support up to six Code E and four Code F aircraft, depending on operational needs.

Three new taxiways and taxilanes have also been constructed to improve aircraft flow and reduce congestion across the airfield. Modern in-ground infrastructure has been installed, including ground power units, pre-conditioned air systems, and a future-ready hydrant refuelling system.
