Macaé Airport, managed by Zurich Airport Brazil, is taking an important step towards sustainability with the construction of its own solar power plant.
Construction has already begun, and energy generation is scheduled to start in February 2026.
With a capacity of 1 MW and 1,455 solar panels, the plant will be able to meet 100% of the airport's energy demand, ensuring an operation fully powered by clean energy. In addition to the positive environmental impact, the initiative will provide monthly savings of 49% in electricity costs, reinforcing Zurich Airport Brazil's commitment to efficiency and innovation.
