Superior Construction, an American family-owned infrastructure contractor, has been awarded a major contract to construct new cargo and corporate aprons at Gary/Chicago International Airport. The federally funded project will relocate and expand operations at the airport to accommodate increased aviation demand in the greater Chicago region.
Superior will construct a new cargo apron in the northwest quadrant of the airport, separating cargo operations from passenger and commuter aircraft traffic. The project also includes a locally funded corporate apron to serve a new hangar.
