Local business Siemens Postal, Parcel and Airport Logistics based near Heathrow Airport has donated a range of educational materials and teaching equipment to Parlaunt Park Primary Academy in Slough, Berkshire to help teach young children attending the school.
For Siemens, Managing Director Dr Thomas Bayer said: ‘Encouraged by those involved in the company including Nikki Modgil whose children attend the school, supporting the local community and helping young people’s education is very important to us at Siemens. It’s also highly rewarding to see such support in place, providing real benefits and making a positive difference to teaching the children.’
From stationery to classroom furniture, the donation made by Siemens includes storage cupboards, a number of large wall-mounted whiteboards and easels with whiteboards, a laminator and office table, and a collection of work folders.
On behalf of the school, Head teacher Mrs Jane Sweeney said ‘The new equipment is a great asset to the school allowing us to enhance the education of our children. Supporting the school in this way is tremendous and we are extremely grateful to Siemens. The new equipment has already had a positive impact on the children’s education’.
‘Every child who attends Parlaunt Park Primary Academy is viewed as unique and treated as such. We encourage them to become independent thinkers with a love for life and learning’, added Mrs Sweeney.
Parlaunt Park Primary Academy is a community school catering for children between the ages of 4 and 11 years. The school was built in 1952 as a separate Infant and Junior School. The two schools were amalgamated in 1987 under one Head Teacher. In September 2014 it became an Academy and joined The Langley Academy Trust.
