In a landmark move for the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador’s Seymour Airport (Baltra Island) is set to undergo crucial changes under an amended concession agreement. This amendment, formalised by Corporación América Airports (CAAP) through its subsidiary, Aeropuertos Ecologicos de Galapagos SA (Ecogal), signals a forward-looking approach that promises to enhance the airport’s operational efficiency and support the growing tourism sector in the archipelago.
The amendments are designed to restore the economic and financial equilibrium of the airport’s concession agreement, ensuring that it remains viable and competitive as tourism rebounds.
