More than 5m passengers travelled through London City Airport (LCY) last year, making it the busiest 12 months in the history of the facility. The total of 5,100,025 was a year-on-year increase of 6.3%.

Chief commercial officer Richard Hill said: “Last year was a very successful one generally, with increased demand from passengers and airlines, the launch of new routes and expansion of others, and continued high scores for passenger satisfaction.
