Quito’s Mariscal Sucre International Airport has entered a new phase of development with the completion of a significant expansion project led by Corporación Quiport. The initiative, which represents one of the most important infrastructure upgrades for the country’s aviation sector in recent years, is set to enhance operational capacity, improve the passenger experience, and support Ecuador’s long-term connectivity goals.
The expansion began in 2019 but was paused during the pandemic, mirroring disruptions faced across global aviation. Construction resumed in 2024 with a renewed focus on recovery through strategic growth.
