A regional aviation expert with 40 years experience has been appointed chairman of Highlands and Islands Airports Limited (HIAL) board.

Christopher Holliday, who joined the board as a non-executive director in March 2020, takes up his new role on February 1.

HIAL, which is a publicly-owned body, operates and manages 11 airports in the Highlands and Islands including Inverness.

Gillian Woolman has been appointed a non-executive director.
