Airports are living entities, constantly adapting to the growing demands of the aviation industry and the increasing flow of passengers. They never stop, and this continuous change presents both challenges and opportunities in how we design and construct airport infrastructure. The scale, complexity, and speed of airport expansion require innovative approaches to construction and design.
In a few months, Pascall+Watson Architects will be celebrating its 70th anniversary. We can proudly say that we have seen firsthand how the dynamics of airport design have evolved over the years. One of the most transformative shifts has been the integration of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) techniques.
These methods reshape how airports are designed, built and even operated, ultimately improving efficiency, reducing costs, and minimising environmental impacts.
