Aviation Economics provided technical support to the winning consortium for the acquisition of a 49% stake in Toulouse Blagnac Airport, which was sold by the French government. The consortium is made up of Chinese companies Shandong Hi-Speed Group and Friedmann Pacific Asset Management, and has raised €308m for the French government's privatisation programme.
The Chinese consortium plans to double the amount of traffic at the airport by opening up more point-to-point routes to Asia and within Europe. The transaction won 'Deal of the Year 2015' as voted by audience poll a the 2015 Global Airport Development Conference.
