India-based diversified conglomerate L&T Construction has secured a contract to build Navi Mumbai International Airport in India.

Under the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract, L&T Construction’s Transportation Infrastructure and Buildings & Factories Businesses will carry out cut and fill and terminal works, including the construction of departure and arrival forecourts.

The contract involves airfield developments such as a 3,700m-long south runway, airfield ground lighting and taxiway and apron systems.

L&T will also be responsible for landside facilities construction at the greenfield airport, including roads, multi-level car parking, utilities and support facilities.
