ACC Weekly

Movement on the FY 2021 appropriations bills got underway in the House of Representatives this week. The Transportation/HHS appropriations subcommittee marked up its spending bill on Wednesday, which includes $3.35 billion in AIP plus an additional $500 million in supplemental AIP grants. The bill also provides an additional $2.5 billion in discretionary airport grants in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with $250 million set aside for sustainability projects. The Homeland Security Subcommittee approved an FY 2021 DHS spending bill that includes $8.1 billion for TSA, close to a $300 million increase compared to last year. The bill includes $75 million for computed tomography equipment and $55 million for credential authentication technology. While the House is moving its FY 2021 spending bills, the Senate has not identified a way forward on their bills. As such a continuing resolution (CR) may be expected when FY 2020 expires on September 30.
