Heathrow are pleased to announce that Heathrow’s Lift Off Q2 2026 opportunity is now open for applications on CompeteFor. The theme for the Q2 2026 event is “Winning Team: Creating an Extraordinary Place to Work.” Please see below for more details:

At Heathrow, we believe our people are central to our success. Our vision is to create a workplace where every colleague feels valued, listened to, and proud to belong. We are strengthening colleague voice, improving access to information, enhancing facilities, and embedding inclusion into everything we do. Through meaningful engagement and recognition, we aim to make Heathrow an extraordinary place to work for everyone.

As part of this ambition, we are inviting SMEs to present innovative, creative, and scalable solutions that can enhance colleague experience and support our sustainability goals. In particular, we are looking for ideas focused on circular economy approaches for staff uniforms and creative use of indoor and outdoor spaces. More details are outlined below:

Repurposing & Reusing Old Uniforms

As the UK’s largest single‑site employer, over 90,000 Team Heathrow colleagues work on site every day. We are keen to explore innovative and sustainable ways to repurpose end‑of‑life uniforms, keeping materials in circulation and reducing waste.

We are interested in solutions that:

  • Support circular economy principles and sustainability goals
  • Enhance colleague pride, engagement, and connection to Heathrow
  • Can be delivered at scale, as well as smaller, bespoke or symbolic batches

Creative Use of Indoor Spaces to Enhance Colleague Experience

Indoor environments play a critical role in shaping daily colleague experience. We are seeking creative concepts that transform underused or high‑traffic indoor areas into functional, uplifting, and engaging spaces.

Ideas may include:

  • Wellbeing areas, quiet pods, or collaborative workspaces within compact footprints
  • Innovative digital or physical installations that improve comfort, connection, and morale
  • Modular or pop‑up zones that can adapt and shift purpose throughout the day

Creative Use of Outdoor Spaces for Better Utilisation

Our current use of outdoor colleague spaces is limited. We are looking for imaginative and impactful ideas that can transform these areas into vibrant, purposeful environments.

Potential concepts include:

  • Social or relaxation areas that encourage downtime and connection
  • Outdoor activity zones that support movement, collaboration, or reflection
  • Flexible modular setups that can be reconfigured for events, team activities, or seasonal themes

The deadline for application is Apr 28th 17:00. The link to access the opportunity is:
