Takeover of the airport planned for the fall of 2026 / Concession to run until 2047
Fraport Brasil S.A. Aeroporto de Fortaleza, a 100% subsidiary of Fraport AG that is already operating the airport in Fortaleza, has now won a public bidding process for the concession to operate Jericoacoara Airport (JJD) in northeastern Brazil. Fraport Brasil plans to assume management of the airport in the fall of 2026.
The concession was awarded within the scope of the Brazilian government’s AmpliAR program, which involves integrating regional airports in existing concessions. The signing of the contract is planned for the spring of 2026, pending final approvals. Jericoacoara Airport will then be incorporated into the existing concession for Fortaleza Airport. The contract will run for the remainder of that concession, which ends in 2047. As a result, Fraport Brasil S.A. Aeroporto will operate both of these airports in the Brazilian state of Ceará.
The concession covers operation of the passenger terminal as well as other landside and airside infrastructure, including retail and parking areas. The company has pledged to make investments to modernize Jericoacoara Airport during the first three years of taking over operations...
