On 20 July, the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) launched FlyZero to develop a zero-carbon emission aircraft in the UK by 2030.

In the next 12 months the project will work with the aerospace industry and universities to examine design challenges and market opportunities of aircraft concepts.

Also on Monday, the first day of FIA Connect, Business Secretary Alok Sharma announced £400 million of project grants, funded by Government and industry, to ATI projects.
