The Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) achieved 93% of its overall performance targets for the period, driven by robust passenger traffic and infrastructure improvements, said Samuel Woldeyohannes, executive director of strategic affairs at the authority.
Presenting the half-year report to stakeholders on Feb. 13, Woldeyohannes highlighted that the ECAA handled 7.1 million international passengers, exceeding its target of 7 million, and transported 1.69 million domestic passengers, reaching 94.4% of the planned figure.
The revenue surge reflects Ethiopia's recovering aviation sector, with focus areas including expanding air transport infrastructure, enhancing air navigation services, and ensuring aviation safety and security.
