We’re delighted to offer our PEI community early access to register to volunteer for The Big Bang Competition and/or The Big Bang Fair! Which role do you fancy?
Hundreds of young people submit their brilliant ideas to win one of many prizes as part of The Big Bang Competition. We need STEM professionals to judge some of these submissions online and give constructive feedback. As a judge, you could really make a difference to a young person’s life. You may even uncover the next STEM superstar.
Or if you fancy an in-person opportunity to bring STEM to life for young people, then The Big Bang Fair is for you! It takes place at the NEC from 9 to 11 June. You'll need to volunteer for at least one day. There are a variety of roles available.
Colleagues can apply for one or both opportunities now. Full training will be given. We'll open registrations to the wider community next year so get in early. Apply now.
Highlights from 2024/25
2024/25 was the second year of EngineeringUK’s 5-year strategy to inspire young people from diverse backgrounds into engineering and technology careers. It has been a very successful year thanks to support from our wonderful partners and supporters across the industry and beyond. You’ve all contributed to our impact, thank you.
Key achievements include launching EUK Education, a new hub for teachers and careers leaders, and forming a partnership to improve gender pathways into STEM. We also introduced The Code explores…, which gives 400+ members of The Code flexible ways to get insights and resources that strengthen outreach.
The document includes feedback from our stakeholders including Corporate Members, PEIs, teachers and young people. There’s also a preview of what we’re tackling this year.
