The Colas Airfields team has been successful for the £10million Falkland Island projects tender.

 

These airside packages involve specialist repairs to the runway surfacing, utilising one of Cola's mobile asphalt plants, together with concrete, joint sealing and drainage works.  Surface treatment to 100,000m2 of the Air Service Platforms (ASP) will also be used.  Additionally, there are widening works to the shoulders of the existing taxiway loops.

 

Colas' previous experience at the airfield has enabled mobilisation to commence immediately.  Plant and equipment are already on military transport by sea, and will arrive at the end of February 2015 to commence work.
