Changi Airport Group (CAG) has awarded contracts for the substructure and airside infrastructure works at Changi Airport’s Terminal 5 (T5). These contracts are valued at about S$3.8bn (US$2.9bn) and S$950m (US$736m), respectively.
The substructure contract has been awarded to a joint venture between China Communications Construction Company (Singapore Branch) (CCCC) and Obayashi Singapore. It comprises the construction of the foundation and basements of the T5 main passenger terminal and ground transportation center, as well as a portion of the tunnels linking T5 and Terminal 2 (T2). The substructure site covers about 140ha with a basement depth of up to 28m.
A separate contract has also been awarded to Hwa Seng Builder for airside infrastructure works, including the development of remote aircraft stands, connecting taxi lanes and ancillary support buildings.
