As we approach the end of the first quarter of 2015 I am happy to report that the British Aviation Group has had a successful year so far. We’ve held a series of events, including briefings and roundtables with international delegates from Brazil, India and Vietnam, as well as a Members Day and Regional Reception. Two overseas missions have taken place to Saudi Arabia & UAE and to Hong Kong & China with good attendance on both. We also exhibited at Future Travel Expo in February and Passenger Terminal Expo in Paris earlier this month where we were joined on our stand by 13 of our Members. Initial feedback has shown that the stand was a resounding success and we’ll start looking into our stand for next year shortly.

We’re going to have a short rest over the Easter period but we’ll be back in April with more events, including the UKTI Airport Sector Global Scoping Report Presentation on 16 April and our New Members Welcome Day on 22 April. Looking further ahead, we’re hoping to organise an inward visit of delegates from Mexico and an outward mission to Singapore to look at opportunities in these markets. Plans are also in the pipeline for a joint BAG/ACC conference in December. As always, information on our forthcoming events is available on our website at www.britishaviationgroup.co.uk/events.

In addition to our busy events calendar, some significant work has been going on behind the scenes to put together our successful application to become a UKTI Trade Challenge Partner. As a Trade Challenge Partner we can help you work with UKTI to increase your export business. We have also successfully applied to become a UKTI delivery partner, which enables us to continue to organise inward visits, briefings and outward missions on behalf of UKTI. These applications required us to think strategically about our activities moving forwards and resulted in the development of the BAG Strategic Framework and BAG International Strategy. I will be in touch with more information about these two document shortly.

Our membership also continues to grow and diversify and we now have almost 160 members whose products and services are used across the globe in the development of modern, efficient, world-class airports. Our Members operate in over 150 countries worldwide and have enjoyed notable business success, winning contracts across almost all of the world’s largest airports – a real testament to the strength of British expertise in the sector. If you would like to find out more about our Members and what they have to offer, our Directory of Products & Services 2015/16 in now available to download at http://www.britishaviationgroup.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/17/2014/08/BAGDirectoryofProductsServices_1516.pdf.Alternatively, you can view the online version on our website.
