The most significant updates at Cancun International Airport are taking place in Terminal 1 and Terminal 4. Terminal 1, once an underused space primarily reserved for private operations, is being transformed into a modern, fully operational terminal. Having been out of service for an extended period, the terminal’s extensive remodel and expansion are now in their final stages, with an anticipated completion date around mid-2026.

Meanwhile, Terminal 4, which is the airport’s busiest terminal, is undergoing its second phase of expansion. This phase is nearing completion, and portions of the new infrastructure are already in operation. This expansion includes additional boarding gates and an updated taxiway to ease congestion and increase the airport’s capacity.
