Brussels Airport has held an online information session to brief local residents on Hub 3.0, a major infrastructure programme set to transform the airport by 2032. The first phase, currently under permit review, includes:
- New intermodal hub linking all transport modes, including a tram terminus.
- Extension of departure and arrival halls to handle future passenger growth.
- New hotel and office building.
- Green boulevard with an integrated park to improve biodiversity and public space.
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) found the project will improve mobility, sustainability, and local quality of life, with no significant impact on air quality or noise. Soil remediation is already underway to address historic contamination.
