Plans to expand air cargo operations at Newcastle International Airport are moving forward as the airport progresses proposals for a major logistics development designed to strengthen freight capacity and attract new operators.
Autonomous transit system developer Ultra Global has awarded a £6.28m contract to Coventry-based autonomy specialist Aurrigo International to design and manufacture a fleet of 25 autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) aimed at airport and passenger transit operations.
