Aena has reached a financing agreement worth 5.7 billion BRL (1 billion USD) with Brazil’s National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) and Banco Santander to support the expansion and modernisation of 11 airports in Brazil.

A major element of the investment will be the redevelopment of Congonhas Airport in São Paulo, Brazil’s second-busiest airport, where Aena plans to build a new passenger terminal and expand the aircraft apron.

Additional upgrades are planned for airports in Campo Grande, Ponta Porã, Corumbá, Santarém, Marabá, Carajás, Altamira, Uberlândia, Uberaba and Montes Claros. Together, these 11 airports served 27.5 million passengers in 2024...
