This week the UK Government will formally review the country’s lockdown status. It is likely the current regime will continue for some weeks and we are working to make sure the Government maintains vital support schemes throughout this period. Alongside Airlines UK and the Airport Operators Association we publicly called for an extension of the important schemes it has put in place, including the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. It also urged Government to work with international colleagues to co-ordinate a safe return to flying.

During the weekend, the Department of Health and Social Care published its 3-part plan to help PPE get to where it is needed most. This consists of being clear who needs PPE and when, and who doesn’t, making sure those who need PPE can get it at the right time, and finally, working with industry to ensure we have enough PPE to get through the crisis and beyond. The Government have collected all of their guidance relating to PPE and put it in one place, which you can find here.

This week we are surveying members to make sure we have the best possible knowledge of the impact of the current crisis on businesses of all types and sizes across our sectors. We will be hosting our regular webinar on Thursday and I and the ADS team look forward to discussing any questions or issues with you then.
