President Luis Abinader announced that the Dominican Government will invest approximately US$700 million in the country’s airport infrastructure between the remainder of 2025 and 2026, highlighting that the Cabo Rojo International Airport in Pedernales is scheduled to begin operations by June 2026.

According to Víctor Pichardo, executive director of the Airport Department, the investment plan includes major upgrades across key terminals.
