With Monday, May 26th being a public holiday, it offers an ideal opportunity for passengers looking to fly away for a weekend break without having to take as much time off work, with Friday, May 23rd being a popular departure date on this front. In fact, it is so popular that tomorrow looks set to break records.
Indeed, data collated by Cirium, an aviation analytics company, shows that tomorrow [Friday 23 May 2025] will be the busiest day of the year so far in terms of departing flights from UK airports, with more than 3,200 services scheduled to take to the skies from the country's various hubs. Likewise, the coming Monday is set to be the second busiest day of the year so far on this front, showing the importance of the weekend.
