The National Government, through the public–private coordination between the National Airport System Regulatory Agency (ORSNA) and the airport concessionaire Aeropuertos Argentina, will move forward with the modernization of 13 airports in the country, with a total investment of more than US$500 million (mn) to carry out 15 infrastructure projects.

The works, announced today by the Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers, Manuel Adorni, will be carried out at airports in 11 Argentine provinces and will include the construction and/or remodeling of airport terminals, the modernization of runways and pre-boarding areas, among other interventions.

In this way, the airports of Ezeiza, Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, Salta, Iguazú, Resistencia, Tucumán, Córdoba, Bariloche, Mendoza, Río Grande, Río Gallegos, Formosa, and San Rafael will be modernized.

These actions are part of a comprehensive plan for the modernization and expansion of airport infrastructure, as a development strategy for the Sistema Nacional de Aeropuertos (SNA), aimed at improving connectivity, boosting the growth of air traffic, and raising quality standards for commercial air transport.

During this year, more than 10 projects have already been completed at seven airports: San Juan, Viedma, Comodoro Rivadavia, Termas de Río Hondo, Río Cuarto, Aeroparque, and Ezeiza. They were carried out with an investment that reached US$156mn.
