DBT Ethiopia is planning to host a roundtable titled “Bishoftu Airport: Contractor Opportunities” on Thursday, 16th October from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Dar offices in Holborn. This session will explore opportunities for UK businesses in Ethiopia’s ambitious new Bishoftu Airport project, a $7.8 billion development led by Ethiopian Airlines to address congestion at Bole International Airport and position Ethiopia as a major aviation hub in Africa. The new airport, located about 40 km southeast of Addis Ababa, is expected to handle over 60 million passengers annually by 2040 and will play a key role in boosting trade, tourism, and connectivity across the continent.

The roundtable will also provide updates on the design and procurement plans and bring together UK companies focused on Ethiopia and Africa to discuss broader export potential. The agenda includes presentations from Ethiopian Airlines, DAR, and KPMG/AfDB, followed by a Q&A and networking over coffee.

This is a tentative heads-up from DBT Ethiopia while they await final confirmation from Ethiopian authorities. To register your interest and receive further information on the meeting please contact Nejat.Nesro@fcdo.gov.uk
